The students from Team Ubrella partnered with Selena, a community partner that works at a local homeless shelter, to speak with and learn from people experiencing homelessness. Through their partnership, students learned about the dangers of severe weather exposure and developed their invention, Ubrella, a unique umbrella with both heating and cooling functions.
One student from GALA shared, “Normally in school, they ask you, “What would you do?” Project Invent forced us to wonder, “What can you do?”
