Volunteer Opportunities

Are you interested in volunteering with Project Invent? Throughout the year we look for individuals and organizations to help support student teams in a variety of ways!

Each of the volunteer roles focuses on various supports for students- from giving feedback on their ideas to assisting with tech or listening to their presentation and helping them develop public speaking skills.

We provide training and resources so that all volunteers are prepared to support these innovative change makers!

Idea Reviewer

Idea review

Give feedback to student teams as they share their invention ideas early in the design process. 


Commitment: Set dates in December or March, 1-2 hours- virtual event

Demo Day Judge

Demo Days

Lead a keynote or participate as a judge at one or more of our Demo Day events, where students will demo their products.


Commitment: 3-5 hrs, hosted virtually in May

Prototype Support

Tech Office hours

Provide tech support and guidance to student teams as they build working prototypes.


Commitment: Based upon your schedule! Feb- April- 30 minute virtual meetings with student teams

Pitch Coach

Pitch coaching

Coach student teams as they practice pitching their product to prepare for Demo Day events.

Alden Harwood is a Senior Software Engineer who works for Goodwater Capital. This year, he participated in every Project Invent volunteer experience- including Idea Review, Prototype Support, Pitch Coaching, and Demo Day Judge!

Killian Evers is our amazing 2023 Volunteer of the Year! With extensive experience in design and managing UX teams at tech giants like Google, Oracle, and PayPal, Killian has generously shared her industry knowledge and expertise with our students by serving nearly 30 hours as an idea review and pitch coach and as a judge at our Demo Day X events.
